We had a wonderful day with @playosmo and @disney trying out the new @disneyfrozen Osmo set. Diyanah wore this gorgeous colored @thelittlespoons outfit that was inspired by Anna’s colors while Aaliya wore a light blue pants inspired by Elsa. I created braids for my girls before we went to the event but the ladies blew me away by creating these gorgeous braids for my girls with glitter and color streaks. Are your kids excited about Frozen 2 releasing in November? I’m so glad I’ve taken the time to practice doing braids for my girls! It really adds an extra cuteness factor! Who else loves Fall? Fall is so calm and I love the neutral hues that go with this peaceful and homely season. During the fall I wish we lived in a state like Chicago that completely transforms into Fall. Sure, we have a few fall leaves here in California but not enough fall leaf piles to play in and throw leaves around! It’s okay, we can create our own fall atmosphere at home with decor, books and candles. I took my children with me to go shopping for fall decor and it’s definitely a new family tradition that I hope to do with them every year... here are our fall reads. Do you decorate for the fall? One of our favorite kids book authors, Mo Willems, has released a new book today called Who Is The Mystery Reader?. In celebration of the new release I wanted to share with you some of our favorite Mo Willems books.
📔The Whole Pigeon Series. In particular ...👉🏻Don’t let the pigeon stay up late - we know how challenging bedtime can be with children who just don’t want to sleep. The pigeon rehashes every scenario of why he doesn’t need to go to sleep until finally, he’s out. It’s adorable and definitely a favorite here. All the Don’t let the pigeon books are amazing! We love his most recent one too called The Pigeon Has To go to school. I also just ordered the Pigeon needs to take a bath. I want all the pigeon books because they are funny, relatable in some ways and quick funny reads! It allows me to act and my children love acting it back out to me too.
📓The Knuffle Bunny series - do you have a child who loves a special stuffed animal? Trixie loves Knuffle Bunny and suddenly, Knuffle bunny is missing. I remember reading this to my son when he was 2... he could t read yet but just by looking at the pictures he knew exactly why Trixie was crying. “But mama! They forgot Knuffle Bunny there!!!”
Trixie couldn’t talk yet so it is through her emotions and visual clues that we all come to find that Knuffle bunny is missing. It’s a sweet story with a sweet message.

Do art activities turn into a hand and body painting activity for your children too? Remember that for children ages 1-5 art is more about the process, it’s about the feeling of the paint, it’s about the mixing of the colors and for mom it’s about seeing those exquisite discovery filled eyes behind those hands.
Worry about the mess later!
Well, okay.. let me help you make the mess easier to clean up.
1. Use an art apron or a cheap adult T-shirt that you’ve set aside for art.
2. Line the table with a mat.
3. Use washable paint, people! I don’t ever use anything that is not washable.
4. Don’t have a mat? Then line your table with newspaper, get a fixed glass on there so you can wipe it away easily, or cheap wrapping paper.
5. Hate cleaning and washing out supplies? Use paper plates!
6. For girls, tie their hair back.
7. Leave a paper towel or cloth that you’ve assigned to paint activities nearby.
8. Begin with clean up in mind.. I always leave a cup nearby for used paint brushes. It’s easy for me to grab this cup and clean the brushes in it than to have a million paint blobs on the table with multiple brushes in different areas. Think smart. Be smart.
9. Set goals and expectations with your child. No paint on the chair or the cabinet behind you... no intentional paint on the floor. Try your best. And give them words of encouragement.
10. Accidents happen and that’s ok when it comes to kid safe paint.
11. Allow exploration. That’s the point.
