Looking for some Disney Animal Kingdom fastpass tips and suggestions? Then you are in the right place! This post is filled with fun Pandora and Animal Kingdom Disney World Tips! I will show you exactly which rides I would book a fastpass for.

Disclaimer: I was a part of the Disney Social Media Moms celebration. I paid a conference fee to attend this invite only event, which gave me access to fun perks at Disney. You will find my honest opinions and thoughts on our trip and experience. We have traveled to Disney World many times before and these tips therefore apply to anyone visiting the parks.
Animal Kingdom Fastpass
As a part of the Disney Social Media Moms Celebration, we were given an opportunity to go into The Animal Kingdom an hour before the park opened. This allowed us to ride Disney Pandora’s Avatar Flight Of Passage ride and Na’vi River Journey without any lines!
Making Disney fastpass reservations can really enhance your Disney World family vacation. Some ride lines at Disney world can be REALLY long.. and I’m not even exaggerating. For example, Disney’s Avatar Flight Of Passage ride had such a long line that the wait time was 5 hours long.
What is a fastpass?
Fastpasses are shorter lines for select rides. As of 2021, there are no more free fastpasses at Disneyworld. You can purchase either. Genie+ or Lightning Lanes fastpass. The fastpass will allow one person to ride the ride one time at a specific time without having to wait in the huge line.
Fastpass Tips:
These are the rides that I would book for at The Animal Kingdom fastpass:
- Avatar: Flight Of Passage (please note that there is a height minimum here.. so if you have a child shorter than 44 inches book a different fastpass for them instead.)
- Na’vi River Journey OR Dinosaur ( I have heard that only one Pandora fastpass ticket may be made as your first three choices. I would definitely choose Avatar for the fastpass and possibly Dinosaur as the second one.)
- Kilimanjaro Safari
Disney Animal Kingdom
You can find our day at Animal Kingdom below. The video also includes a few tips! Don’t forget to check out our Disney video playlist and subscribe to my channel too 🙂
Tip 1: Stay at a Disney resort so that you can utilize Disney’s fastpass tickets 60 days in advance.
Tip 2: If you were not able to get a fastpass for Avatar you still have a chance at getting in with a shorter wait time than 3-5 hours. Go to the park an hour before it opens and line up at the entrance. This will give you an early start to your morning and then after you ride Avatar flight of passage, there should be short lines for the rest of the rides because everyone else is still in line for Avatar! You can check the Disney Parks calendar for Disney park times. Make sure you have the right date selected.
Tip 3: If you WERE able to get a fastpass for Avatar flight of passage.. then come to the park a while before opening and go straight to Na’vi River Journey instead. You will accomplish more by doing this because Na’vi River’s line doesn’t fill up as fast as Avatar and you would have a fastpass to do Avatar Flight of passage afterwards. There are some good Animal Kingdom touring options on this website.
Tip 4: As soon as you are done with Flight of Passage, go to the other rides (which you don’t have fast passes for) that usually have long lines. Because most people would still be waiting in line for the Avatar ride, the rest of the ride lines can be short. This is a good time to go to:
- Expedition Everest
- Dinosaur

Tip 5: Pandora is AMAZING to see at night. Unfortunately, we didn’t get a chance to see it during this trip… but I hear so much about it and it is on our bucket list. There is a Rivers Of Light show that is breathtaking! Pandora is also beautiful in the day

Tip 6: Buy the memory maker package before your trip. If you purchase it 3 days or more before your trip, you can get a discount. If you would like a blog post all about Disney’s memory maker and whether it is worth the cost, let me know in the comments below. I love that the memory maker package includes pictures of us on rides. Here are a few of our memory maker pictures taken on Animal Kingdom. This also includes our Animal Kingdom Magic pictures too!

Tip 6: If you have the memory maker package, make sure to ask each photographer if they have ‘magic’ pictures!
Tip 7: If you like seeing characters in themed clothing, Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse are wearing the following clothing in Animal Kingdom

Tip 8: Adopt a Banshee in Pandora. I wish I had known about that before I went.. it is the cutest!
Tip 9: Pandora sets the scenery for beautiful pictures. Take some time out to walk around and take in the beauty of it all.

Tip 10: Use the rider swap! If you have a child that is too short to go on the ride make sure you let the cast member at the line know. They will give you a rider switch so that one parent can stay behind and watch the child. When the other parent is done, they can go back on the ride.. often times letting their other children ride again!
About our day in Animal Kingdom as a part of the Disney Social Media Moms celebration
You can watch our vlog on the event at the top of this post. You can find pictures from our day below.

We began our day by eating breakfast at Satu’li Canteen in Pandora Disney Animal Kingdom.

Kilimanjaro Safari

The Kilimanjaro Safari is wonderful because each time you go, it will be different. You will see different animals. I heard its good to go early in the morning because that is their feeding times, as well as at night. Children LOVE spotting the animals. My 4 year old loved seeing the giraffes.

I hope you enjoyed learning more about the Disney Animal Kingdom Fastpass system. Please let me know if you tried it!
