This Supermarket Scavenger Hunt, or as some would call it, Grocery Store Hunt is the perfect way to keep your toddler or preschooler busy during a supermarket run. Not only will they be enjoying the challenge, but they will also be learning vocabulary words. Woohoo!
Supermarket Scavenger Hunt
I was recently on the Mommies Tell All Podcast where I discussed how I started doing activities for my kids, how Fun With Mama came to be and we discussed some tips and tricks to make our day go by smoother. One of the things I mentioned was this Supermarket scavenger hunt.
After your kind comments on my airport scavenger hunt and my latest zoo hunt, I knew this would be an eagerly welcomed activity.
The supermarket scavenger hunt includes a mix of items you will see at the supermarket, including some vegetables, fruit, dairy, and a bakery item.
The supermarket hunt pack includes 8 different hunts in color and the same 8 in a black-and-white copy. Children can use this for coloring pages too, before they go on the hunt. That would work in a classroom setting as homework. The black and white copy is great for classrooms and those who would prefer to save ink.
I never need to worry about my ink usage because I am using the HP Instant Ink program. I pay $10 a month for my subscription and I can print out 300 pages every month. This means that I NEVER worry about my ink usage. They have larger plans for those whose printing needs are more. I highly recommend you look into this program.
I have also included a memory-matching game that focuses on the vegetables, dairy, bakery and fruit items alongside the grocery store vocabulary words too.
A good activity to tie into this one is the picnic pretend play activity and the grocery store money counting activity.
