We did marble painting for open ended art this week. Last week’s theme was ‘Red’ and since we didn’t get a chance to do it last week we did it this week.
Hmm… I see that the painting looks purple red…
If you think its not red maybe there is something wrong with your monitors colors….?
ok ok, next time I will add more red paint.
I found the instructions on how to do this at Mommies Little Artist but here are some picture instructions if you would like visual instructions.
Materials needed: Sponge, paper, Black, white and your desired color paint. We used red.
Add three blobs of paint to a piece of paper. (One black, one white, and one your desired color). Put a good amount of your main color.
Yes … MORE red paint 🙂
Then dab/blot with a sponge at the paint blobs to create a marble effect.
Here is D’s finished marble painting:
But D currently likes to add colored rice to all of his projects:
We played around with the colors and added trees to mine:

VERY nice – we did this awhile back & it didn't come out nearly as nice as yours! What a great job! I love the tree's! 🙂
