This marble painting owl craft is a wonderful art activity for toddlers or preschool aged kids. Mom’s will love that there is a very low mess factor. It is so easy to put together and the results are beautiful.
I love that this activity is just as much about process art as it is about having fun!

Marble Painting
At our play group we created owls by painting with marbles. This is the first time I did marble painting with A(17 months old). I was surprised at how much the kids loved to shake their wiggles out.
They have to balance it enough not to have the marble fall out of the container (unless you use a lid) while creating some pretty cool and nifty designs.

Materials Required:
– Empty tub. It could be an old ice cream container or margarine tub. Really, anything that is the right size for your chosen project.
– Marbles
– Cardstock paper or finger paint paper
– Paint
– Feathers
– Googly eyes (optional)
The Activity
Cut your paper to the appropriate size. I basically just cut our paper to the size of the tub we were using. Drop in a little bit of paint (not too much or else there will be no design, just smudges of paint.)
Then you are all ready to throw in some marbles.
If doing this with younger kids then make sure to use a lid on your container.
For a variation try to not use a lid and see the different design that can be created in this way. and shake them around.
When your owl is dry you can glue on some feathers and add some eyes.
We drew eyes on but you could also use pom poms or googly eyes too!
