This past weekend we were invited to the Mira, Royal Detective Disney Junior Premiere and it was amazing…. That’s no surprise because when Disney throws a party, you know it’s going to be amazing! We last went to the Diary Of A Future President Premiere + Party where we got to hang out with the cast and crew too.
My children are Disney obsessed and I can see why.. Disney has a magical way of finding your child’s dreams and then unleashing the confidence the child has within to make their dreams a reality. That’s why we have a subscription to Disney + . If you aren’t sure what that is then read this post: Everything You Need to Know About Disney Plus.
Mira, Royal Detective
What is Disney Junior’s Mira, Royal Detective about?
Mira, Royal Detective is one of the first South Asian animated shows. It is set in the Indian inspired land called Jalpur. Mira is a beautiful young commoner girl who gets appointed to the role of Royal Detective after solving a mystery that saved the kingdom’s young prince. She is a brave, resourceful and adventurous girl. Her adventures will encourage viewers to use their critical thinking and deductive reasoning. I am hoping that watching Mira, Royal Detective will encourage my children to look for the 1,000,001 toys, shoes and things that they can’t find each day, rather than asking lucky old Mommy to be the finder. Hopefully they can put on their thinking minds and be detectives to find their own things. Wooho! Such a big win for this mama.
Each episode includes more about India’s heritage, songs and dance. The episodes are 11 minutes long.
What do you think of when you think of India? I think of colors, Bollywood, dancing, singing and large dreams.
Mira, Royal Detective will debut on March 20th on the Disney Channel in USA and India simultaneously.

If you don’t already know (or couldn’t tell), we have a Desi side. We have Indian genes and although we haven’t been to India, all the time we spend watching Indian movies, eating Indian food and listening to Indian songs gives us a strong pull and warmth towards India’s colorful culture.
Here is a look at the premiere of Mira, Royal Detective:
You can watch my YouTube video below that takes you along with us to the premiere.
The Premiere was held at the Walt Disney Studios in Burbank, CA. The blue carpet was decked out in the most beautiful of colors and reminds me a lot of what I wore to my brother’s Mendhi party. (In the Indian culture, a Mendhi party is a Henna party that is thrown for the bride to be and the future groom attends it too. It is filled with a lot of dance, music and henna too.)
Here is what it looks like when you are in front of the blue carpet…(when you aren’t on it.) There are a lot of photographers and the cast walks on the blue carpet… but when they are gone, guess who gets to walk on the blue carpet?!
We do!
Once we walked past the blue carpet we went to the Theatre.
VIP Premiere’s always include popcorn!
Right before the show started we were treated to a wonderful and cultural dance to the Mira, Royal Detective theme song.
Once the beautiful dancing was done we got to watch the show and it was so culturally rich!
I loved seeing characters with skin that was a little tanner, beautiful oval like eyes, thicker eyebrows and lovely embroidered and beaded clothing.
After the show we went to the after party. The food, drinks and decor were all indian themed.
My daughter was excited to see a Henna tattoo station! She loves Henna!
There were a lot of photo and video opportunities too.
The goody bags were filled to perfection.
It was such a lovely event and we are so excited to watch Mira, Royal Detective!
You can check out my son’s vlog of the experience too below!
