One day you’ll carry them in your arms and then One day you’ll carry them in your arms and then one day, they will be grown. You will wish that you could once again hold their little body as tenderly as you once did when their little body would mould so perfectly into your own.

The years are SO short.

I love you… a bushel and a peck. Babywearing = I love you… a bushel and a peck.

Babywearing = time spent bonding to the sound of a heartbeat, a loving constant warm hug with little hands gently rubbing mommy’s arm, and positioned in such a way that mommy has a little forehead inches away from ever ready kisses.

Are you a babywearing mama too?

Some might think I started all over again, diapers Some might think I started all over again, diapers, strollers, diaper bags, and all that.
.
But really, I got to start again with a new set of eyes to be able to see the world anew!

Motherhood gives you the ability to pause and live life’s special moments all over again through the curious eyes of your child.
Notes from an American South African📝 💪🏻 Notes from an American South African📝
💪🏻Change can be beautiful, even if it feels challenging. ✨

Here we are, at the end of our trip to South Africa (our second home) + these trips here always bring about a lot of reflection.
Especially with little Alayna in tow. It feels like I’ve come full circle once again with a little one back to where I began my story as a mom.

Having lived in both South Africa and USA (lived in USA 18 years, SA for 10 years, back in America currently for 7 years, who knows where we will be next year - that’s part of the excitement),

The one thing I’ve learned in life is that CHANGE is inevitable.
Change is beautiful, even if the colors seem confusing at the beginning.
Sails need to be constantly adjusted.
Your destination is ever changing. Why be stuck in one place?
Growth can be found in change.
So instead of fighting change, embrace it.

I believe I grew a lot as a woman through the changes + am actually so appreciative of it.

Sure, at the beginning of change you are in a new experience - one you may feel unequipped for, scared of, and even at times, a feeling of being a fish out of water can overwhelm you.

It’s hard to understand it at that time, but looking back I wish I could tell myself to:

Appreciate the newness + lack of skill you may have right now when there is change around you.
You will eventually rock it!
Your small pond felt safe but you’ll find an ocean filled with wonder and delight.
You will grow!
You will learn your strengths (and sure, weaknesses too) but push on!
You will find your voice!
This change will begin to feel like your norm, and it won’t be new for long.
You will realize your dreams + establish your goals so that who you are at the beginning of that change is but a drop of who you are about to become!

Tomorrow, I don’t know where the wind will take + that’s okay. I’m adaptable + ready for new adventures. Are you?

I hope you’ve enjoyed my stories here in SA

Do you have any questions about living in SA?USA?

P.S. We’ve officially decided that we live in both places, America and South Africa . Part of the year here and part of the year there.😂 I’m a global citizen.
