This week for our art activity we painted Mommy and baby owls. I printed the normal sized Owl printable and the Mini Owl Printable from Learn.Create.Love. I am a new follower of Kim’s blog and I am loving her printable art activities that are all on my to do list. As soon as I saw this owl activity I knew this was the perfect art activity for my kids this week. You just print out the sheets and have your child paint them. Once dry you assemble the pieces… the result is so adorable!
When A was younger she didn’t care much for painting. She didn’t seem to enjoy it much and sort of seemed to dislike it. That has totally changed now though because once she started painting she did not want to stop.
I can see that next week we will need to do a finger painting activity as A really wanted to use her hands to paint.
D on the other hand has always enjoyed painting and was very keen to do this activity.
Once the paintings were dry I cut the pieces out and D helped me assemble and paste the pieces on the right spot.
We also added some glitter to each of the owls. Which child doesn’t love sprinkling on some glitter to their projects? Mine LOVED this part.
These are the mini owls.
While I think it was easier for the kids to paint on the bigger owl since its on two different pages therefore its easier to have them use two different paint colors I think that the mini owls looked much cuter and will be easier to hang up somewhere. We will be adding the mini owls to our alphabet tree.
These came out so cute! I’m glad you and your children enjoyed them!
Also, thanks for giving me heads up in my comment section. I love seeing what others do with my printables. š
