Kids love storytelling and storybook activities. The Three Little Pigs is a much loved story that preschoolers and elementary grade students love to re-enact. A lot of development goes on in a child’s brain during these moments. They work on their memory and recollection, speech and vocabulary, story sequencing and get to use their imagination. We are always looking for new Three Little Pigs Activities and crafts so when Get Qurious contacted me about their interactive Three Little Pigs story box I knew it would be something we would love to try out. Interactive Activity #1: Mask Story Play
There are two masks included: a little pig mask and a big bad wolf mask. Children need to put this on and face their iPad camera. Then they can record their own voices saying a line from the story.
My kids loved performing this part.
Interactive Activity #2: Puzzle Play
Here children are to build the house puzzle and then take a picture of it with their iPad. This creates their interactive house.
Interactive Activity #3: Sequencing Cards
This part works on a child’s storytelling and sequencing skills. Your child will need to find the first card, place it on the table and scan it with the app. This then begins the story. Each card represents one piece of the story. The child then needs to move on to the next card (1, 2, 3, 4, 5, etc.).
When we were done scanning the cards and completing the story we then placed the story cards in order on the table. I then had the children tell me the story again from start to finish using the cards as starting points.
Interactive Activity #4: Sticker Play
Children love stickers so I thought this was a wonderful addition to the Get Qurious maker box. This part works on a child’s visual perception and fine motor skills. There are boxes on each page. Your child needs to choose one of the stickers that can fit into the box, place it within the box and then scan the page with the app to see how this story comes to life on the iPad.
