Letter Crafts
I know how busy a teacher or parents life is and that is why I am constantly striving to find time saving activities. My letter crafts have always been popular on my blog as well as on Teachers Pay Teachers… and even though I didn’t need to… I wanted to make them even better. I want to save you TIME. I think for you… 🙂
I am so excited to announce that my alphabet letter crafts now include CUT files!! WooHoo!!
What does that mean?
It means that if you have a Silhouette or Cricut Cutting machine, all you need to do is open these alphabet files in the appropriate program, print from the program, place on your cutting mat, click send and then your cutting machine will actually cut the files for you.
Can you imagine what a time saver this will be for you? Imagine those sweet teachers who cut 20-30 letter a crafts for each of her students? I mean sure, you can use tools like the circle cutter for the letter c crafts but I mean, if there is a machine that can streamline your whole classroom prep process then WHY NOT?
The best part is, if your students actually want to carry on cutting the files, like the letter b crafts, then that’s fine, you can just print the normal color files and your preschooler can cut it. Have a child who loves to color? Then the black and white files are still available to them too.
What do I need?
To use a cutting machine you will need a cutting machine. I have the Silhouette Cameo and that is what I used in the picture examples. If you already have a Cricut cutting machine (I don’t), then you can try the files on there.
There is a newer Silhouette Cameo here.
How to do it:
I normally print out my letter crafts on to this card stock paper.
You could also use sticker paper if you want to make it a sticker based activity. I haven’t tried that though so I can’t share thoughts on that process.
Then you can use your silhouette cameo or portrait machine. I have the Silhouette Cameo. These files have only been tested on the Silhouette Cameo although I have added cut files for the Cricut cutting machine too, but there’s no guarantee on that one since I don’t have a machine to test it out on.
You open your Silhouette Cameo design software, then open the letter craft file. (For example the letter a crafts like a is for apple.)
You will need to PRINT from this screen so that it includes your registration lines.
Once it prints out, you will put it on your mat correctly.

See how the image above has some lines on the corners. That is to show your cutting machine where it should be cutting.
This is what you should be left with once the machine finishes cutting it and you remove the excess paper… You can repeat this process for multiple kids (by printing out 20 and then sending the design to your machine to cut the 20.)

Once your machine has cut the files, you can throw all the pieces into a ziplock bag (1 per child with a piece of paper and glue stick) and you are good to go!

I have also done this with the black and white files for your convenience too.

If you have already purchased the set on the Fun With Mama store (this is also included with the bundle), then e-mail me with your order number so I can get these files sent to you.
If the files have been convenient for you and I know that the time spent on them is worth it, I will go ahead and complete the cutting files for pack 2.
I will not troubleshoot machine specific problems. To use these files, I assume that you have learned how to use your cutting machine. Any tech issues need to be troubleshooted with your machine itself.
