This alphabet matching incorporates popsicles! Learning the uppercase and lowercase letters of the alphabet with a summer themed popsicle activity would be a great activity to do at home or in your school centers for preschoolers.
Not only are there uppercase and lowercase matching popsicles, there are also beginning sounds too!

Alphabet matching popsicles
Aimed at young children who are just starting to learn the letters of the alphabet and beginning sounds, these Popsicle Puzzle printables are great fun and can be enjoyed anywhere when added to busy bags. They could also be used to practice building simple words, like CVC words.
Like our ice cream alphabet matching activity , you can either print out your popsicles onto normal paper and laminate it.. or on to cardstock.
As you can see, we have a lot of alphabet letter matching activities because they are such a fun preschool activity!
This Popsicle Puzzle Printable Pack contains 54 pages of popsicle puzzles.
I recommend printing this printable pack out on white cardstock and then laminating the individual pieces of the popsicles for durability before using them. You could even store them in busy bags that can be used during outings and appointments. There is also a blank page that can be cut in half and used a base for children to create their popsicles on.
This pack contains four sets of popsicle puzzles:
- One set contains three uppercase letters that can be matched together.
- Another set contains three lowercase letters that can be matched together.
- Another set contains pictures with the same beginning sounds to match together.
- The last set consists of an uppercase letter, a lowercase letter and a beginning sound picture to match together.
When you are ready to use these popsicle puzzles, spread out the set that you want, and place the blank template in front of your child if using. Have your child search through the pile of popsicle pieces to find the matching pieces and place them on the correct position on the popsicle mat. If they aren’t using the mat, they can place them on the table in front of them, creating their popsicle as they go.
They could also use these popsicle puzzles to create CVC words by collecting the correct parts of the popsicle and spelling the word downwards.
