Short E Sound Playdough Mats

This is the new set of CVC Playdough Mats. This set includes the Short E sound CVC words and are a fun way to help children learn their CVC words.

CVC SHORT E Sound

These fun play dough mats can be used as a painting activity, sensory activity and a play dough activity depending on how you use them.

Here are some items that pair well with these activities. You will use each of these items over and over during all my printable preschool activity packs.

• Card stock
• Laminator
• Play dough – You can either purchase playdoh or make your own play dough using the best play dough recipe here.

In this printable pack, children will be introduced to the Short E sound. This pack includes the following CVC word sounds:

• eb
• ed
• eg
• em
• en
• et

There are three activities included on each of the playdough mats. They also come in both color and black and white for printing.

Read the word ~ Here the word is written in solid print. This is great for helping children learn to read and say the word.

Write the word ~ In this area of the playdough mat, children can use a lead pencil, crayon, marker or a dry erase marker (if laminated) to practice writing the word.

Build the word ~This is where the children can use playdough to build the word. They could also use things like buttons or pom poms to build the word as well. If the mats have been laminated, they could practice tracing the word with a dry erase marker.

The CVC Playdough Mats includes approximately 152 CVC words. The pack includes short a, e, i, o, u words. Each Set of mats includes a color copy as well as a black and white set. You can use the words with play dough or other manipulatives.
