Disguise a turkey template
Sending these turkey printables home under the disguise of a first-grader holiday project with clear instructions that the whole family can work on, the deadline, and some ideas. However, it works just as well as a Thanksgiving Day activity or craft project to occupy the kids during Fall. What could be more fun than a turkey disguised as a Snowman, a minion, or as Elsa?
Our free turkey crafts printable contains 2 turkeys, 12 outfits, and word labels. Plus we’ve made it available in color, too!
These templates encourage a large amount of creativity because the kids can disguise the turkeys from start to finish as they see fit. What is ‘Turkey in Disguise’?
The Turkey in Disguise Project is a classic classroom project that is based on the book Turkey Trouble. Students are required to disguise the turkey to save it from Thanksgiving Dinner. It can be sent home as a family project, completed in class as a task, or even at home for fun.

This activity is a lot easier than you think! I recommend the ‘use-what you-have’ philosophy; basically, any appropriate random items that the kids want to use as decoration is a yes.

Best Tips and Tricks
- Give every child a certificate for saving a turkey’s life. They will feel that their work is meaningful and valued.
- You could do a writing challenge with the kids on the writing pages. I suggest ‘What do turkeys think about,’ ‘A turkey’s opinion’ or something equally silly but interesting.
