We stayed at the Disneyland Hotel Anaheim this past weekend in order to get a reservation for Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge and I can’t wait to share with you everything about the Disneyland hotel review including a room tour and Disneyland hotel activities.
Disneyland Hotel Anaheim
From the age of 7, I’ve always wanted to stay at The Disneyland Hotel (you can book your stay here) but seeing as we live pretty close to Disneyland, we’ve never really been able to justify at stay at there. But as Disney says… “A dream is a wish your heart makes.. when you’re fast asleep” and to always believe in your dreams… the moment finally came. Dreams do come true, just like it did last year when I was invited to Disney Social Media Moms.
We’ve stayed at Disneyworld Hotels including the Contemporary Resort (where the Monorail goes through and where you can find the exciting Chef Mickey character dining experience) and the Polynesian Resort too. Staying at a Disney hotel truly is magical. Although nothing can be more amazing than a Disney Cruise!

Parking
Valet is $35 a day and $25 a day for self-parking. My Signature Plus annual pass did not give me any benefit at The Disneyland Hotel. Even though parking is included in my pass for the Disneyland Mickey and Friends parking lot, it is not included for the hotel stay.
Check in
Disneland Hotel Anaheim check in was from 4pm, although I’ve heard if there are rooms available, you can check in earlier. I’d highly suggest you do that to get the most bang for your buck.
We had a busy day with my kids still in school so we only got to check in around 4pm.
The check in line was a little long but there are 2 tables with interactive games for the children to play. They include games like mazes, coloring pages, tic tac toe, etc. to keep the kids busy… also, those little tea cup seats are ADORABLE.
Disneyland Anaheim Hotel Room
We got a room on the 6th floor with a parking view. The room sleeps 5 and that couch turns into a single sleeper couch.
One of the most special parts of staying at The Disneyland Hotel is the gorgeous nightlight on the headboard. You flip on a switch and the lighting goes on with a sweet night time song. My children and I LOVED this special touch.
Disneyland Hotel Activities
I heard the pool at the Disneyland Hotel Anaheim is really nice and there are 3 slides at the pools. Unfortunately, 2 of the 3 slides were closed for refurbishment when we went there but nonetheless, we still had a blast.
When you enter the pool area (with your key) the hotel cast member gives you towels. My 5 year old saw the adorable life jackets and immediately went over there to begin her pool time.
I love the added touch of life jackets. It definitely makes the children and parents feel more comfortable.
The slide that was open was the one that looked like the monorail. It was pretty cool and all my kids were able to go on it. I hate when the youngest can’t go on a slide… especially when it’s a simple slide. It always leads to disappointment, but this time… she made it. I’m not sure what the height limit is though (of it there is one.)
The pool area is truly picturesque, as is the whole hotel. The greenery, the gorgeous reflections… it is truly beautiful.
There were multiple life guards at each of the pools and they were VERY vigilant. I’ve never seen life guards with such strong focus before. They would walk up and down their designated areas paying very strict attention. It was nice to know that they were really watching out for everyone.
Here is a look at the activities you can find at the Disney hotel anaheim (click the images to see a bigger copy):
8 Benefits of staying at the Disneyland Hotel in Anaheim:
- Short lines for Dole Whip by going to the coffee shop.
- Magic Hour entrance for your stay. (This means you can enter the designated theme park an hour earlier than the rest of the crowd.) EMH = Extra Magic Hour. EMH on Tue, Thu, Sat for Disneyland and Sunday, Monday and Wednesday at Disney California Adventure.
- You can tell them to deliver your Disneyland and California Adventure purchases to your hotel room instead of having to carry it around the park.
- You can take an afternoon break from the parks when the weather is really hot.
- Really nice pools to relax in.
- Go to Trader Sam’s/Tangaroa Terrace for some tiki time.
- There is an early morning power walk that they hold in DCA before the park opens. The sunrise seen coming over Carthay Circle is absolutely breathtaking.
- Walking distance to the park (although I will admit, it is a somewhat far walk.)
