These black glue stained glass heart suncatchers were such fun to create and even more so, a beautiful reminder of how beautiful the world is when the light shines through. We included a free heart template printable at the bottom of the post to make this activity as easy for you as possible.

How to make the black glue heart craft
First, you need to make your black glue.
To make black glue:
Empty half of your white glue bottle (move it to a different glue bottle or use up the glue until you have half a bottle of glue left.)
Then add in your black acrylic paint until it’s almost at the top of your bottle. Then mix and shake until the color is evenly distributed.
Next, I placed my template paper down on my work surface and then added my clear plastic over it. I taped the sides so it would not move while I was placing the black glue over it.
Wait for it to dry. (The lines you are seeing on the plastic hearts above is from my lighting.)
Trust me when I say you should definitely make more than 1 because it’s really very relaxing to color these in. (I find coloring pages such a relaxing activity even as an adult.)
Creating that black line can be a little challenging at first. You will get better at creating the black line the more you practice.
Wait for it to dry. I waited overnight.
Then color in the hearts with your Sharpie markers.
Once done, cut out the hearts using a scissor.
Then place it on your window to see the beautiful colors shine through when the sunlight passes through it.
This is such a fun heart suncatcher craft and is a little different than the normal tissue paper heart suncatchers we’ve done in the past.
