I have been so inspired by the Tot Trays that I have seen online that I knew I wanted to start doing Tot Trays with A.
I am so glad that I did. It gives her an activity to do but instead of me telling her when to do it she gets to do the activity when she feels like it.
These were the trays that I set out for her at the beginning of the week.
Top Row Left: Puzzles (2-4 piece puzzles)
Top Row Right: Shapes Sorter.
Bottom Left: Placing fruit shapes in each hole for one on one correspondence.
Bottom Right: Blocks.
I changed out the trays during the week depending on whether she completed the activities and her interest in them.
Top Left: Puzzles
Top Right: Water Pouring Activity (Next time I will use a glass bottle).
Bottom Left: Donut Size Sorter.
Bottom Right: Pom Pom Transfer (like below).
Pom Pom Transfer
The trays above are as follows:
Sorting bears according to numbers. This was more for Deen(aged 4) and introduction to numbers for A(2).
Sorting bears according to color.
Paper Clip Sorting.
Making the letter D with play dough.

I’ve been wanting to do tot trays myself with my little one… I just haven’t figured out storage & display yet! I love your ideas!

My kids seem to really like their tot trays. It does take a bit of planning on my part BUT they love that they are not forced to do the activities and when they are bored or just in the mood for that particular activity it is sitting there and waiting. It is also great to keep them busy before dinner or when you just need a few minutes. 🙂 I love the trays!

I cut out cardboard into egg shapes and then left them all sorts of paper for them to rip and stick down on their eggs.

hello, that was amazing, thank you for sharing your ideas with others, I am want to do tot tray with my baby. question! you said that you set up the trays at the begining of the week, so do you keep them all there for the whole week? and do you do all of them each day? when you do an activity do you remove that tray and replace it with another? would you please explain abou this , thank you so much.
Nadia
I set it up once a week. If I am able to set it up more often than I do if I notice my child is bored with it. Kids don’t mind repetition though. I generally keep them there for the week and she can take them whenever she pleases if she wants to work with that activity.
