Summer is arriving bringing with it hot days, sunshine, and vacation time! Celebrate with this kindergarten fun pack by taking them on an imaginary trip to the beach before the official vacation begins. There are two activities included, a rhyming puzzle activity and a build a beach scene activity. The kids can match words that rhyme to form a picture of the beach or they can create their own picture. The scene features a tree, crab, sun, boat, sand, ball, sea, trunk, and sky. The build a scene comes with several different images to use in their creation including two children ready to play and enjoy the sunshine!

Rhyming Puzzle Activity

Materials Required:

Scissors
Card stock Paper (It makes it a lot easier to handle the pieces when you use thicker paper like card stock.)

Instructions for set up and use:

Cut out on the lines around the picture with the image on it.
You could add velcro dots to the backs of the picture and top of the puzzle mat to make it a fun on the go activity to take with you on vacation!

The children will match the words that rhyme to each other to form the puzzle.

Build A Beach Scene

Instructions for set up and use:

This activity just requires a little cutting. Cut out all the different scene pieces and lay them out. Let the child build a scene on the beach picture. They could glue them pictures down or use them for a little imaginative play by creating their own story.

Other ways to play:

You could glue Popsicle sticks to the backs and turn them into puppets.
How about printing it out on magnetic paper and making them magnetic to play with on the fridge or a cookie sheet.

I enjoyed creating this pack because I myself am crazy about the beach. What is there not to love? The squishy sand the squeezes between your toes when you walk on it and always seems to find it’s way EVERYWHERE. The smell of salt water thick in the air as it floats on the breeze. Looking out on the water and as far as you can see is nothing but water until it meets the sky. The beach is so much fun to visit!
