Halloween parties are a staple of life during October. If you’re hosting a kid-friendly Halloween party this year I’m sure you’re on the search for unique and fun Halloween Crafts. Why not make these adorable DIY Halloween slime kits to give away as party favors? Trust me, it won’t be just the kids who love these kits! Even their parents may want a slice of the Halloween science action, so make a few extra just in case. If you’re worried about using real glass mason jars, look for jars of a similar size that are plastic. Most craft stores should carry plastic mason jars.
DIY Halloween Slime Kit Directions
Materials Required:
Please note that affiliate links are be used in this post.
- Elmer’s white glue
- Borax powder
- Cardstock paper
- Small Halloween toys (we used Halloween party favor toys), glow in the dark eyeballs, googly eyes.
- Plastic or glass jars
- Orange and black pipe cleaners
The Activity:
While we normally prefer slime made with laundry starch because it doesn’t break as easily, because this is a slime making kit, we chose to use borax powder. Some children have sensitivities to borax, so use caution when making these kits.
Please note that adult supervision is required!
In each jar, place:
- 1 teaspoon of borax powder
- 1 4-ounce bottle of glue
- Small Halloween toys
- Slime-making instructions
Making borax slime is a little trickier than making laundry starch slime. Write this on your instructions:
Mix the borax powder in a cup of warm water.
In a separate cup, mix your glue, 1/2 a cup of water, and a few drops of food coloring.
Stir.
Add some of the Borax liquid to the glue liquid and stir.
Pour off any excess borax liquid.
Remove the slime, and play!
Our glue bottle was slightly taller than the jar lid, so I just covered the opening in plastic wrap and used the screw part of the mason jar lid to hold the plastic in place.
Wrap each jar lid with a black and orange pipe cleaner.
