Present the task cards to your learners along with alphabet letters.
For this activity you can use the magnetic letters or even alphabet tiles.
Present the activity to your learners and explain how the activity needs to be done.
Learners will first identify the picture on the garbage truck and sound out the CVC word.
They will then use the alphabet letters to build the CVC word. They will identify the beginning, middle and ending sounds and place the letters accordingly onto the compost bins.
Once they are done, they can then blend the sounds together to read the CVC word.
If you prefer your learners to write down the letters, use this activity with a dry-erase marker so they can write down the letters instead of using the manipulatives to build the word.
