Where can you buy an elf on the shelf?
You can learn where to buy Elf On The Shelf as well as get details of my favorite extensions on that post.
This adorable shelf elf comes in either a boy elf or a girl elf option as well as various skin tone options as well. There are also Elf on a Shelf kits that have elf friends, like reindeer, included as well. But each kit should come with a book that can explain to children where their elf came from. We also love the Elf Story DVD.
Some people’s elves come right after Thanksgiving, some do it 10 days before Christmas day. The premise is that every night the elf will get into some sort of mischief, do something clever or funny, or bring something to the child. This is all done during the night so when the child wakes up, he/she can go search around the house for the elf and witness the aftermath of the magical night. This Elf experience can be as simple or as complex as you would prefer. Some dress their elf up in different clothing options throughout its visit while others focus on the activities the elf did. It is an extra bit of magic during the holiday season that is why we, as parents, love Christmas! It’s such a fun time of the year.

This Elf activity idea pack includes elf on the shelf coloring pages, do a dot pages, tracing and handwriting pages and so much more. For those who don’t know much about this Christmas Tradition, The Elf on the Shelf is a children’s picture book, published in 2005, that was written by Carol Aebersold and her daughter Chanda Bell.

This book is written in rhyme and tells of how Santa Claus knows who is naughty and who is nice. It explains how elves visit children between Thanksgiving and Christmas Eve each year before returning to the North Pole. Here you can work on Christmas vocabulary words.

These elves watch over the events that take place in the household during the day and once everyone goes to bed, they fly back to the North Pole, give their report to Santa before flying back, finding a new place to watch the events of the days.

The book does mention one rule: Please do not touch me. Why? Because if the children do, the elf will might lose their magic and they won’t be able to tell Santa what they have seen or heard. At the end of the story, it describes how the elf leaves the family to spend the rest of the year with Santa until the following Christmas season. The literacy activities includes elf on the shelf activities for preschoolers. Some of them are harder and are more suitable to kindergarteners.

The Elf in the Shelf is a great children’s book which this printable pack concedes with nicely. Your children will have fun with this Christmas Tradition while practicing counting and letter formation as well as completing fun activities such as puzzles and dot-a-dot pictures.
