Elf Slime Recipe

With Christmas just around the corner, it’s time for that sneaky elf on the shelf to come back. This time, he’s bringing elf slime with him. Make this fun elf on the shelf slime with your kids this year as part of the Christmas celebration, or have your elf make this slime as a gift for the kids one day during your Christmas countdown! This slime recipe is so simple, and kids love the glittery goo. This slime will make this the best Christmas ever. You will definitely be the favorite house on the block when your kids tell their friends what their elf brought this year.

Elf Activities & Elf Slime Recipe

Materials Required:

Elmer’s clear glue
Liquid laundry starch
Red food coloring
Measuring cup
Small bowl
Silver glitter
Elf figurines

Elf Slime Recipe:

Mix your glue and water in equal parts in a mixing bowl. We usually use 4 ounces because that’s the standard size of glue bottle. Add glitter and red food coloring. Stir.

Add an equal part of laundry starch to the glue mixture and stir until it is no longer sticky or cloudy. This can take anywhere from one minute to five minutes.

Remove the slime from the bowl and stretch it until it feels cool to the touch and no longer sticks to your fingers.

Place your elf figurines in the slime and let your kids go crazy! But not too crazy, because slime can be a struggle to get out of cloth. Make sure your kids are supervised while completing this activity.

My kids love stretching the slime thin and trying to blow bubbles in the slime. If your slime is mixed correctly, they will be able to form pretty large bubbles! They also had fun burying and “discovering” their elf toys in the slime.
