Have you ever created a gingerbread Haunted house? It is SO much of fun! When I saw these Trader Joes Haunted House Chocolate Cookie Kit’s when I was out shopping I knew it was exactly what I needed for our upcoming play date.
Halloween Haunted House Kit
What’s a Halloween themed play date without some decor?! I got all these items (minus the Trader Joes Haunted House Kit) from Target.
Here are all the items that are included in the kit.
I love how easy this was to set up for each child.
Getting the actual haunted house part up was a little challenging and required two people. So we each helped each other with this part.
Put on a thick layer of the black icing and then place your piece down. Hold it in place for a few seconds and then move on.
If your house is falling apart use more icing and then stick it in the freezer for 20 minutes. It seems to make the hold much stronger. We did this on all of our houses and it worked perfectly! My kids were then able to decorate their houses without fear of their haunted houses falling.
To decorate all you need to do is squeeze some of the orange icing and begin decorating.
There are so many unique ways that you can decorate the haunted house. My daughter opted to add in some markers.
My 4 year old couldn’t decide whether to decorate her house or eat the candy!
It was a very creative and fun activity and I definitely think we would do this again next year.
Here are our finished houses. They are each different but equally as amazing. The only disappointment for the kids was they they weren’t allowed to eat the house! We are currently using it as a decoration.
I’m not sure how long these Trader Joes Haunted House kits will be available.. so I’d go grab them asap so that they are already for your Halloween decor.
