As some of you may have noticed from my absolute quietness for a few months in July, August, and September something’s been going on…that special secret is that WE ARE HAVING A BABY. We are so excited to share this pregnancy announcement with you!
Pregnancy Announcement
It’s been a really tough past few months with multiple health problems for me. I have always had extremely difficult pregnancies and while I want my child and baby so very much, I suffer from something called Hyperemesis Gravidarum. I wrote an extremely vulnerable and honest post about my Hyperemesis Gravidarum Journey here. I encourage you to read it even if you don’t battle with HG in pregnancy. It can give you a lot of perspective on what someone else’s pregnancy journey is like.
I wanted to wait to do our pregnancy announcement until I was feeling all better. That ended up being around 20 weeks pregnant.
Since I started to feel a lot better around 20 weeks, I wanted to celebrate this excitement and plan a special pregnancy reveal party (and gender reveal party) for my kids. This was a celebration that mom could finally speak again and that we made it through the hard part of pregnancy. I put together a beach picnic for them as a celebration.
You can watch the beach picnic pregnancy announcement below:
Since I wasn’t completely normal yet, I hired out the decoration part. I used a company called The Picnic Collective.
We hadn’t left the house much at all at this point for quite a few months so it was truly wonderful to get ourselves outside. The girls and I went to a private hair salon and got our hair done. I got my hair and makeup done for the first time in a long time and it felt so great.
Diyanah is so excited to be a big sister. She really wanted a baby around.
In a world that is currently filled with sadness and darkness from COVID, the pregnancy has been a light and spark of hope. We have something to look forward to again.
For our pregnancy announcement, we chose something light and airy and went with a color scheme of pinks and blues for our outfits.
My youngest is 7 and my oldest is 13, so the age gap between this little one and his/her siblings is quite large. My challenging pregnancies are the reason for the age gap but I think in a way it will be a good thing too.
My children and husband are so excited about the addition coming to our family. It’s amazing for them to feel the baby kicking and moving around in my belly. Babies are such a blessing and I know that each one of them is going to be so helpful in helping raise this little one.
A beach picnic is the perfect backdrop to our fun pregnancy announcement!
When I announced my pregnancy on Instagram, I was shocked and so moved by the kind words and congratulations I received.
We thank you all SO much for your prayers, your kind wishes, and sweet thoughts.
