There are a few centers that are targeted in this pack, use different centers each day to keep the theme engaging.
You can also have a chart where you plan what activities to do or let the kids pick depending on the center.
Jack and the Beanstalk Literacy Activities

- Vocabulary Words– Discuss the vocabulary words in the story. You can use the cards to play a memory matching game. Then complete the worksheet.

4. Build The Words-Build the words using magnetic letters or alphabet manipulatives.

7. Letter Matching – Match the uppercase letters to the lowercase letters.

2. Storybook– Read the story. You can color in the black and white version.

5. Write The Room– Hide the numbers around the room then when you make a match trace the number on the recording page.

3. Anchor Chart + Discussion Pages- Discuss the characters and setting of the story then use the discussion pages.

6. 3 Part Cards- Match the word and picture to the whole card. You can hide the pieces in a sensory bin to make this a sensory activity.

8. Counting Clip Cards 1-20– Count the pictures on each card and then clip the correct number.

11. Beanstalk Measurement– Measure the beanstalk using items you have on hand.

9. Build A Beanstalk With Math Links– Identify the number then use the same number of math links to build a beanstalk.

12. Counting Eggs- Count the eggs, trace the number, and add golden eggs to the nest.

10. Addition + Subtraction Cards-Add and subtract according to the pictures on the card.

13. Color By Number- Use the number guide to color the picture by number. We also included a second set of color by code that is a craft. Color the picture by number, cut out the picture, then glue it together into a toilet roll. These can be used as puppets to retell the story.

14. Sequencing Strips + Story Order– Place the sequencing strips according to the story order. Then fill out the sequencing worksheet or activity page.

17. Bead Threading Activity– Attach pipe cleaners to either the number cards or the egg cards. Tape a pipe cleaner to each card then thread the same number of beads as the number. You can also use these cards as a number matching activity.

20. Puppets– Cut out the characters and objects. Then place them on a craft stick. You can also use the cut outs and backgrounds to recreate the story.

23. Shapes Mystery Puzzles– Cut out the picture pieces. Then build the mystery puzzle by matching the shapes

15. Puzzles– Cut out the puzzles then match them according to word or number order. Use the black and white copy to work on coloring and fine motor skills.

18. Play Dough Mats– Create the objects and characters in the story using play dough.

21. Cotton Bud Painting– Use a cotton bud with paint to color in the pictures and letter. You can also use fingertips and a stamp pad instead.

16. Activity Pages– Follow the prompts on the activity pages. You can place these in a page protector to make them reusable.

19. Dot Pages– Use dot markers or circle stickers to complete the picture and to create the letter.
