In this Kiwi Crate October 2017 Review you will have a look inside this months kids monthly subscription box by KiwiCo.
The absolute best thing about Kiwi Crate is that it is easy for me, as a mom. My daughter and I have been doing crafts and hands on activities together since she was old enough to hold a crayon and glue stick, but not everything was easy. Sometimes it would take me just as long to get the supplies out as it would for my daughter to do the activity. That is not always okay with me. You can find all of our KiwiCo Reviews here including KiwiCo Promo codes!
We also have updated Kiwi Crate coupon codes on our Kiwi Crate Promo Code page.
With Kiwi Crate, each activity comes spelled out, with simple instructions, and all the supplies are in the box. Everything down to glue dots. The only ‘work’ is to separate the supplies by activity, which is also spelled out in the instruction book.
Speaking of the instruction book there are step by step instructions and pictures to assist. Older kids may be able to do these activities on their own but we prefer to do them together.
Activity #1: Mixing Colored Lights
My daughter loved this activity. It was perfect for her because she loves stickers and playing with light. This activity had multiple steps to build the container and the stand for it. Together with the finger lights, magic occurred. It showed my daughter how red, blue and green lights combined can create a whole new color.
It was purely magical especially in the dark!
Activity #2: Projecting Colorful Shadows
This activity took me straight back to my time in elementary school when teachers used projectors to teach. We’d sit in the dark, she’d write on her machine and all of the sudden the words she wrote ended up on the wall in front of us. This activity was just as impressive, even on a smaller scale.
The supplies allowed us to create the projection box as well as where to put the lights so you can see what words are written on the wall. It was so fun for me because my daughter is beginning to learn new words so she wrote ‘i love you’ and that was projected on the wall. Be still my mommy heart.
Activity #3: Rainbow Glasses
These things are seriously cool. They look and feel like the old school 3D glasses you’d get when you went to see a 3D movie but when you look at a light everything looks like a rainbow. The light is projected through the glasses and the light fragments dissipate into rainbow colors. How stinkin’ cool. The brighter the light the more rainbow there was to see. Our whole family enjoyed these glasses and my daughter still wears them around over a week later.
This box was a fantastic box to teach my daughter about light and color. It shows that there is sometimes more than the eye can see and helps to teach what happens ‘behind the scenes’.
We are fully obsessed with Kiwi Crate and would suggest it for any family that likes to do hands on activities together, or any adult that wants to provide a fulfilling activity for a child.
