How to Draw a Spider Web
This cobweb / spider web tutorial drawing for kids is great for Halloween, fall, or just a good idea for any spider fans! It’s also super fun for the kids to work on their drawing skills and drawing confidence.
Let your child use what they want to use to draw. As long as they understand that a marker or pen is permanent and if they use a pencil, they’ll have an eraser to make changes, this gives them the options to make choices.

Spiderweb Drawing Step by Step
Ok, it’s time to get started on this easy spider web drawing.
Step 1 – Center the lines
Start at the edge of the paper and find the middle. Make a plus sign in the middle of the paper, as shown below.
Step 2 – Draw the lines
On the opposite side of the plus sign, draw diagonal lines in between, as shown below. At this point in time, there will be horizontal line and vertical line drawings.
Step 3 – Add the curved lines
Now that the straight lines have been drawn, it’s time to make half of the first circle. It’s a small circle half to fit in the bottom area of the web. The highlighted red line below is the perfect size and shape.
Step 4 – Repeat Step 3
Repeat the process all around the bottom of the points to make it look like a small uneven circle, as shown below. Just have each point connect to the next half-circle loop all the way around the point.
Step 5 – Draw out the rest of the web
The kids will draw bigger half-circles the further that they go out on the line. Once they draw one arch, they just move on to the next arch and around and around in a circle. Bump out a bit and start a whole new loop. See the red loop lines as an example below.
Step 6 – Add the spider
Now it’s time to add the spider! Draw a small circle for the head, a little bit bigger size for the body, and straight lines with a bend for the legs.
If your child is a visual learner, this is a great way to show them and let them see it and then draw it on their own. They’ll love drawing a spider web easily at home!
This spider web drawing activity is so much fun for the kids! They’ll love being able to create their very own spider web to hang up and show off to family and friends!
Keep practicing your drawing of spider webs. Each time it will get better and better.
