Pumpkin Theme for Preschoolers
A pumpkin theme is very common during the fall months. It is one of my favorite things about October and I think the kids will agree. Pumpkins are commonly associated with fall, or more specifically Halloween. We did a Craft Pumpkin Painting activity using craft pumpkin and acrylic paint, completed printable pumpkin life cycle activities, and worked on shape matching with these free pumpkin patch shape matching mats. My kids are excited to visit pumpkin patches, carve out jack-o-lanterns, and try pumpkin spice lattes. It’s officially pumpkin season!
Kids are intrigued by pumpkins due to their size, color and unique characteristics. It can be used to teach a variety of concepts. Let’s talk more about these pumpkin ideas for preschool that are a must-have resource for classrooms, homeschools or at-home use.
We have some interesting STEM activities that discuss the pumpkin life cycle – the kids are always so fascinated learning about where giant bright orange pumpkins come from!
There are also pattern recognition activities which improve problem-solving skills.
Use the worksheets to learn how to spell your name, how to make pumpkin pie and even how to find a way out of a tricky maze!
Thanksgiving is a wonderful time to make pumpkin pie and have the kids follow along- it does get messy sometimes but the memories are precious.
